Spring Wedding in Downtown Salt Lake City

October 28, 2019

Today I went out to light the candles in our jack-o-lanterns, and to my dismay, found that the lids were frozen to the rest of the pumpkin. Not exactly what I was expecting so early in the season, so I hurried back inside and thought maybe it would be the perfect time to grab a cup of hot chocolate, put on my biggest socks, and reminisce on the much warmer, sunnier day that was Becca and Nathan’s spring wedding in Salt Lake City.

Becca and Nathan were married and sealed at Temple Square on one of the busiest weekends in May (there were a total of 60 couples getting married that day at the temple!), and the weather and spring blossoms were putting on their best show for the occasion. Becca wore a beautiful David’s Bridal dress with gorgeous lace detailing, and Nathan wore a forest green suit that went perfectly with the fresh feel of spring. The bride also chose a whimsical mix of roses and coral, yellow, and blue wildflowers from florist Debbie Fuchs to match the season.

After their temple ceremony, we headed to Commercial Club SLC in the Exchange Place area of Downtown Salt Lake City for a traditional ceremony. Becca and Nathan read each other the sweetest vows, and also took turns pouring colorful sand into a frame to represent the two of them becoming one.

After the ceremony, I stole them away for a little walk around outside before the reception started. The sun looked so beautiful peeking through the trees and old architecture, and made me feel like we had escaped to another time and place.

After our little excursion, we enjoyed a lively reception with Becca and Nathan’s friends and family full of dancing, good eats, and refreshing Italian sodas from Utah Celebrations. Music was provided by DJ Chris Events.
